Borat RIP

"It's upsetting, but the success has been great and better than anything I could have dreamed of."

Sacha Baron Cohen confirmed in an interview with the Daily Telegraph that he will never again play the character Borat.

boratonline has had a great time running this site for the last seven or eight years, especially when the movie came out and it seemed everybody in the world was visiting us. But ultimately the movie is the perfect end to a truly great comedy character.

22/02/07 The best film writers of 2006?

Boratonline.co.uk fans will know about Sacha Baron Cohen and Dan Mazer. But who is Peter Baynham and Anthony Hines, two of the other Borat team members up for the Oscar this weekend?

Well they are absolute legends of UK comedy. Peter Baynham has had a massive say in Steve Coogan's work including obviously Alan Partridge. He's also been the main writer behind Chris Morris (Brass Eye). Anthony Hines is one of the brains behind Paul Kaye's Dennis Pennis character.

To watch a thirty minute interview with Baynham and Hines about Borat then please visit the website below. A must watch for Borat fans.

Also, there is a pretty good interview with Dan Mazer on the BBC website:

"Say we are going to interview a group of feminists, and we have 20 questions. We sort of know how people are going to respond, so we prepare the answers as well."

"No exaggeration - sometimes we would go into a scene with up to 250 jokes."

"I liken the script to a flow chart: if Borat says A, then the woman will say either B,C or D"
